Description

The Chauffeured Transportation Association of New Jersey (CTANJ) is proud to announce the 2026 Barbara J. Chirico Scholarship Program, created to assist the children of current CTANJ member families who will be attending college, trade school, or post-graduate school in the coming academic year.

To be eligible, the parent or parents of each applicant must be a current owner or employee of an active CTANJ member company at the time the scholarship is awarded.

This scholarship program was established in memory of CTANJ founding member Barbara J. Chirico, who passed away in January 2024. Barbara was a trailblazer in the ground transportation industry who was passionate about helping others and generously sharing her knowledge of both the industry and life in general. In honor of Barbara’s zest for life and commitment to supporting others, this scholarship program is designed to assist the children of current CTANJ members and their employees as they pursue higher education, trade school, or post-graduate studies.

All applications will be reviewed by a Scholarship Review Committee consisting of at least five CTANJ Board members and Barbara’s daughter, Deanna Gulino. Committee members will be appointed annually by the President.

Scholarship Awards

  • Barbara Chirico Academic Excellence Scholarship: $2,500
  • Barbara Chirico Community Service Scholarship: $1,000
  • Barbara Chirico Leadership Scholarship: $500

In such cases, recipients must submit copies of their college transcripts directly to the Scholarship Review Committee each year for continued payment. New essay submissions will not be required.
